“Just decide and execute.”
For the first part of my career, I was a high school teacher who also coached baseball and football. I always appreciated the potential of my students and my athletes, but in 2010 I realized I needed to be able to push myself further, and needed to be able to help those around me push themselves further. I decided to follow my passion and became a health and fitness professional, where I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do: helping people that care better themselves, helping them not only look better but feel better, and driving them to not settle for being good when they have the opportunity to be great!
I believe it’s not about how much you exercise, but how you exercise. Here at Fitness Premier we start slowly, laying the foundations of your workout and then gradually increasing the movements and intensity as you progress forward.
I look forward to meeting you, and can assure you that whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, or tone up, we will help you reach your fitness goals!

“Changing Lives Through Exercise”
Better movement is the foundation of achieving your fitness goals. It does not matter if you are looking to lose weight, get stronger, get healthier or increase athletic performance, appropriate movement will get you there faster and safer.
Appropriate movement begins with the screening process and moves on to the development of corrective strategies and individualized programming.Programming for all adults should include cardio respiratory exercise, strength training, flexibility, neuro-motor development (functional fitness) and corrective exercise.
The screening process could include:
- Postural Assessment (structural integrity)
- Functional Movement Screen (seven movements that’s require a balance of mobility and stability)
- Senior Fitness Test (60 and older) (more…)

“Take one day at a time and enjoy the journey of life.”
I started teaching Group X about 21 years ago, after doing personal training and nutrition for a number of years. I am passionate about helping other people reach their fitness goals. It’s such a great feeling when they reach it, or are on their way to teaching it and become super motivated.
I believe the gym can be an intimidating place for some people, and I have nothing but respect for anyone taking the first step and walking through those doors. I give them so much credit. Fitness Premier staff, including myself, are all here to help. If you see me around and have a question, please stop and ask. I don’t mind at all, in fact I’d love to help.
Working out and taking care of our bodies is hard work, and everyone deserves a big high five for taking the right steps to become a healthier you! Take one day at a time and enjoy the journey of life.

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
I have always loved fitness, since I was a pre-teen aspiring to be a body builder. I achieved the Gold Presidential Fitness awards in both middle and high school. I was a cheerleader, a sprinter and shot putter, and I wanted to be a wrestler. But then, life happened! My weight through the years went up and down, but with the help of Fitness Premier, I recently lost 22 pounds, doing two six-week challenges!
Two phrases that really motivate me are “Just Do It!” and “Commit to the process.” Fitness Premier has encouraged me to do both of these, and by putting action to those words, I feel and look great! I want everyone who walks into Fitness Premier to feel the same way-–moving and feeling better, while having fun and building friendships. That’s why I love Centergy: It builds your total body strength through yoga poses and Pilates with emotive music to get you moving and feeling great!

“Do what you can do today and over time you will see improvement in yourself.”
Yoga is not a workout, it is a work-in. Move, stretch, strengthen and simply LET GO.
“You must believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable!”
My fitness journey began when I was in my twenties had two little girls and wanted to “get in shape.” I started attending Group Exercise classes on a regular basis and fell in love with fitness!!! I loved how working out on a regular basis began to change my life not only physically but mentally as well. My passion became so great I wanted to share it with others! I decided my first step would be to get my primary certification to instruct group exercise classes. I loved the group setting so much but realized there was a need to see people one on one I wanted to see peoples lives change for the better! From there I pursued my personal training certification. I have now been instructing and personal training for 13 year. My husband shares in my passion of fitness and you will often see him working out with me.

I am a Certified Personal Trainer through ISSA (International Sports Science Association). I am a positive, fun, and motivating trainer who designs workouts to suit clients of any fitness background and level. I like to take time with each client and treat them as an individual, not just another client. I also believe in teaching you how to develop the self-confidence needed to take control of a happy, healthy lifestyle.
I have instructed Group x classes for 10 + years. Turbokick, PiYo, Muscle Fusion, Core Ball, BodyPump, cardio kickboxing, silver sneakers, and Zumba. I enjoy helping members achieve their own personal goals during class and I understand that everyone starts at different fitness levels.
Overall, I love to see people smile and feel good. By instructing classes, members get a sense of pride and accomplishment. Come take team training or Personal Train and start looking and feeling better one step at a time!
My name is Rebecca Martin-Berry I’m a three time graduate with 2 masters in Education and an undergraduate in Marketing. I’m from Minnesota originally and have been in Illinois for 14 years. I got into fitness about 6 years ago. The job I had before becoming an educator was very physical and as a teacher I began to gain weight. My last straw was when I had to buy a bigger pant size and I had no energy. I came to Fitness Premier on an invite and took the Centergy class. I was hooked! Before coming to Illinois I lived in Michigan and had taken a class called Nia. Centergy was as close as I could get.
In all my struggles and successes I have learned that you need to have a strong mindset. Have perseverance to allow you to overcome all, and trusting that if you do what you can do, do what you know to do, God will take care of the rest.
