“What we think, we become.”
I played several sports in high school and was also a member of the powerlifting team. During my time in college, I studied Physical Education and Health. While student teaching, I realized that teaching young students might not be the best option for me. I really loved teaching and my main interests were in strength training, proper exercise, and overall healthy living.
Having now been a personal training now for over five years, I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Helping people make lifestyle changes to better their overall health is what truly motivates me to continue learning and growing as a coach and trainer.
My goal ever since getting into the fitness industry is to improve the health of as many people as I can through proper exercise and healthy lifestyle changes. At Fitness Premier I found an entire team of managers, trainers, and coaches with that same goal in mind. I have no doubt that if you are willing to give us a try, we will help you achieve your goals.
“One’s Attitude, Determines One’s Altitude”
I’m a husband, father, personal trainer, entrepreneur, and football coach. My main passion is in sports, conditioning, and getting the highest performance out of people. I’ve been involved in football, in some capacity, my entire life and was part of my High School State Championship team, youth football coach, high school football coach and now an IHSA official. Football has been a part of my life for so long and something I’m truly passionate about.
For years I have crafted my coaching ability. In 2010 I looked at myself and realized that I have been coaching our youth about playing football, health and how to perform at the highest level. During that time I let myself go. I was up to 265+ pounds, exhausted and unable to do any level of physical activity. One night I rolled over to my better half, Andrea, and said I have to do something. That was after 12AM on January 1st 2010. That morning I signed up for a 5K run. Yes I said it, a 5K. It’s funny for me to type that still today. I had every excuse not to run, bad knee, out of shape, etc. I was used to exercising like a football player (we ran for 5 seconds and then took a 30 second break). I hate running and always thought it was boring, but I signed up for it anyways. That was only 75 days after my decision to change my life, 3-14-10.
Through the upcoming year my wife and I ran about 5 races. The training for all of the runs was just as gratifying as the first. I was hooked on fitness again. Since then I have lost 65 pounds ran 30 plus 5k`s, three half marathons, two duathlon, 100+ miles for the children of St. Judes and the Chicago Marathon. During that journey my passion to tell my story and help other people grab ahold of the health and fitness became even more clear.
Over the last 6 years I have been helping many people realize that you can do anything that you put your mind to. I went from an out of shape coach to a marathon runner in 6 years. In 2016 I partner with Fitness Premier to bring a process, coaches, knowledge, and the power of a community to Manhattan. Passing the message that if I could do it so can you, and to remember that
