“You can get everything in life you want, if you help enough other people get what they want.”
I’ve always loved being active and being around other people striving for the same goal, so I’ve always been very involved in sports and fitness. When I graduated with a business degree, I wanted to find a way to apply it toward my passion for fitness. I was able to work with a health club chain, where I found that balance between business experience and engagement with fitness. Eventually my wife Kelley and I had an opportunity to own and operate our own Fitness Premier location, and we have since opened and operated over 25 more locations, learning countless lessons along the way.
I personally find it much more enjoyable creating success with others, and I’ve seen enough to know that many other people feel the same. Our clients and members trust us to help them with their health and wellness needs daily.
I take that responsibility very seriously and I am very grateful that they allow us to be a part of their fitness journey, and allow us to share in creating their success.
“Innovation is rewarded, execution is worshipped.”
I started playing sports–football, baseball, and basketball–when I was five years old. So growing up, I always had an extreme passion for athletics and everything that went along with it.
My fondest sports memories are not the personal accolades that I have gained along the way, but the camaraderie and friendships amongst my teammates. Similarly, today the thing that gives me the greatest sense of accomplishment is not my own success, but those times when I can provide an avenue for someone else to be successful. And that’s the number-one priority here at Fitness Premier: creating a culture and atmosphere that stimulates team work, and helping a group of people that may have otherwise never known each other to work together to achieve common goals right alongside their own individual goals. Here, we all rely on each other to be successful.
I am 100% confident that if you just walk into any of our locations, you’ll experience the atmosphere of selflessness and encouragement that differentiates Fitness Premier from the rest of the industry.
Regional Operations Director
“Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.”
I started with Fitness Premier as a member, when my husband Darin and I joined in 2005. Although I’d been very active in sports all throughout school, by 2005 I’d worked in management for 10 years before choosing to be a stay-at-home mom and focus on things like school committees, organization boards, and being a Girl Scout leader for our local troop. After we became regulars at the Bourbonnais Fitness Premier, a manager approached me about possibly working there.
I started in Bourbonnais as a part-time kid’s room attendant. From there, I fell in love with Fitness Premier and what we stand for, and just kept moving up, from kid’s room attendant to club maintenance tomanager of the Bourbonnais location. And now I work out of the corporate office as the Regional Operations Manager.
My own journey within Fitness Premier has been a long and rewarding one, and I love being a part of our members’ and staff’s journeys, too.
Club Support Specialist
“Today, you are you that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you”
Hey all! My name is Kristina and I am from Hammond, Indiana. I love laughing and having fun, and you will very rarely see me without a smile on my face. I work hard to make sure that wherever I am, it’s a very fun, organized and successful environment.
I believe that every day you should try to be the best you that you can be, and that you shouldn’t compare yourself to anyone else. This is something that Fitness Premier works to help our members realize: The idea that your plan, your path, and your goal are all uniquely yours.
I first began my journey with Fitness Premier as a Member Services Specialist. My current position mainly focuses on our billing department, but I also help make sure all of our clubs are running efficiently. I consider my journey a parallel to our members’¬–my role at Fitness Premier is always evolving, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Online Training Director
“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
I grew up in small town Wilmington, Illinois, where I danced ballet competitively through high school and discovered my love for the arts. I’m here at Fitness Premier because I enjoy constantly being around creative, energetic friends that inspire me to be better. As the Online Training Directorfor all our clubs, I’m able to draw upon my arts background and apply my eye for design, though my favorite part of what I do is working with our members to communicate their individual success stories.
I’ve been extremely lucky to have astounding influences to steer me in life, one of which is the camaraderie I’ve found at Fitness Premier. My fellow team members are funny and supportive, and the enjoyment we take in working alongside each other extends to the club’s atmosphere of positivity and teamwork.
“It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
I grew up on a farm just north of Crescent City, Illinois. That probably defines who I am more than anything else in my childhood. It taught me to be active, be outdoors, and work hard. I really enjoyed playing sports growing up, more for the team aspect than possessing athletic talent. I love being knit into a community like that, sharing experiences and having a common goal. After high school, I attended Millikin University in Decatur and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. Working out as a hobby didn’t really interest me until later in life. However, after recovering from a knee injury, my physical therapist recommended Pilates and weight lifting to help keep things in good shape. The results compared to constantly doing cardio were eye opening. It sparked an interest in fitness and nutrition that has stuck with me!
I joined Fitness Premier as the Marketing Director at an exciting time for the company as it was launching its franchise as well as a new logo! Making a big digital impression for the company is my number one goal. No matter the medium used, making an impact always boils down to how you make people feel. I’m incredibly happy to be in a business that puts so much positive energy out into the world and fosters a true team environment, not only for our club members, but for all the staff.
Outside of work I love being with my son and husband, hanging out at the farm, reading, spending too much time on social media, cooking (but not baking, it always ends poorly) for my family, watching Chicago Cubs baseball, and, of course, working out!
